Weathercloud’s collection and use of personal and non-personal information


In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 27 April 2016, we inform you that by using Weathercloud, you consent to the collection, manipulation, disclosure, transfer, storage and other uses of your information as described in this policy. Irrespective of which country you reside in or supply information from, you authorize Weathercloud to use your information in any country where we operate.

Your privacy is very important to Weathercloud. Below we describe how we collect, use, disclose, transfer and store the information you provide to us.

Information we collect

We collect the following personal and non-personal information to deliver, measure and improve Weathercloud:

  1. Personal information:
    • When you create a Weathercloud account, we ask you for some personal information to create your user profile. Please note that some of this information will be public and accessible to non-registered users.
    • When you subscribe to our newsletter, we ask you for your email address. In some special cases, we may ask you for additional information.
    • When you send feedback or a support request, we may keep a record of your communication.
  2. Non-personal information:
    • We log information about your use of Weathercloud, including your IP address, your web browser type and language, access times, pages viewed and the website you visited before navigating to our website.
    • We may collect information about the computer or mobile device you use to access Weathercloud, including the hardware model, MAC address, IMEI, operating system and version, phone number and mobile network information.

Modifying your personal information

Weathercloud provides you with tools to modify the personal information you provide to us. In order to do so, sign in and access your user profile.

You can also permanently delete your Weathercloud account. Be aware that deleting your account will lead to the elimination of your personal information and account from our servers, except certain information we are required to retain by law or for legitimate business purposes. Once an account is deleted, it will not be able to be restored.

Protection of your personal information

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, theft, disclosure, alteration and destruction. However, no method of transmitting or storing data is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of the information you provide to us.

We restrict access to personal information to only those employees who need to know that information in order to deploy and maintain Weathercloud. These individuals are bound by confidentiality agreements and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Please note that some parts of Weathercloud allow you to post personal information that may be publicly accessible, viewable and collectable by anyone. So please take care when using these features.

Disclosure of your personal information

We do not share personal information with anyone outside of Weathercloud, except for the few exceptions detailed below:

  • We work together with other companies who provide services to us, like hosting our website and cloud database, sending out newsletters, analyzing our website traffic, etc. We only share personal information with these companies if it is strictly necessary for them to provide their services. All companies we work with provide at least industry standard systems and processes to ensure the security and confidentiality of your personal information.
  • We may share personal information if disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
  • We may also share personal information to enforce applicable terms of service, including the investigation of potential violations thereof, detection and prevention of fraud or security issues, and protection against harm to the rights, property or safety of Weathercloud, its users or the general public as required or permitted by law.
  • If Weathercloud is involved in a reorganization, merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business, the information we collect may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Our policy towards children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under the age of sixteen. However, we do allow users under the age of sixteen to use certain features or areas of Weathercloud that do not involve the collection of personal information, aside from certain computer or mobile device information that may be collected as necessary to the operation of the website.

If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will take the steps needed to eliminate such information and terminate the child's account.

Third-party websites

Weathercloud’s website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the information collected by those third parties and we encourage you to read their privacy policy before submitting any personal information to them.
